Coming to Kunvald on the road from Žamberk, it is hard not to notice the house with a tall smokestack, today unfortunately rather derelict. This is a former sawmill no. 211. The premises are valuable technical monument, and a noteworthy example of industrialization of the Czech countryside in the 19th century. Original farmstead was rebuilt by Kašpar Buchtele in around 1800. The sawmill was operated till 1992, when the compound was returned to the heirs, and it has been sold and re-sold several times since then.
