The “Praying valley” is quite narrow, made by a small creek that usually dries out in summer. The Brethren were gathering here in hard times for silent prayers – mainly after 1547, and after the defeat of Czech estates by Ferdinand I in the Schmalkaldic War, perhaps also later, after the Battle of White Mountain. Educational trail “In the wake of the Bohemian Brethren” leads through Modlivý důl, and you can reach another memorial place, if you follow it: Jordán.
Thornless Alpine rose is worth mentioning, growing around the stone with inscription Modlivý důl, as if to symbolize the fundamental idea of the Bohemian Brethren – no violence of any kind. You can sit here, and contemplate in silence on one of the benches.
