Part of the valley to the north from Kunvald was declared a protected area of 10 hectares in 1987. The brook valley is rich with spring snowflake. Endangered species of marsh orchid is another rarity in the location.
Other major species include welded thistle, Alpine sorrel, lady’s mantle, water avens, brook thistle, common toothwort, oxlip, speedwell etc. Apart from common fauna there is rare Alpine newt, smooth newt and common toad.
